OVERVIEW

This poster design commemorates late designer Virgil Abloh and his extensive list of collaborations throughout his career. Personal information including his home city and educational background were used to highlight his origins before his rise to prominence in fashion and pop culture.

CONCEPT

Aiming for a grunge style, I added different elements to simulate the effects of a printed, tangible object including textures, halftones, and distortion in some areas.

I also wanted to pull the viewer to the top of the poster by not only using bold lettering, but also applying three dimensional effects as well. This added depth and visual weight, allowing the other supporting components to fall into place.
